these photos are from the best weekend of the summer! they were taken at my friend sam's family's farm in new hampshire. they threw a pig roast party to celebrate the farm's fiftieth anniversary. these amazing people definitely know how to have a party! thank you sam, for the invite last year, in barcelona ! and to your awesome family and friends that made this weekend one for the memory books!
casa ruiz factory and cafe
we stopped at the cafe ruiz factory where the beans are processed and roasted or packed to sell green. here we cupped their line of coffees, clad in our new scrubs, and learned about their different roasts. the last stop was down the road at the actual cafe where they serve up the delicious fresh roasted coffees in various forms. here i enjoyed a nice pour over of the belinda, recommended by carlos. did i mention he is a certified coffee cupping extraordinaire, along with being an amazing tour guide? thanks carlos!
cafe ruiz de panama coffee plantation
on our last day in boquete we went on a little coffee tour of casa ruiz. we were picked up by our guide carlos and taken to the farm. there we learned a brief history of coffee, walked around the farm discussing the different coffee varietals, growing processes and the amount of labor it takes to process the coffee from seed to cup.
